I am currently on the island of Koh Samui (off the coast of Thailand) doing an advanced yoga course… after which I will have my advanced yoga teacher’s certification. I am living in Chicago and going to Northwestern University to finish up my degree in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (with a minor in Arabic). I also work part-time as a book seller/do media merch. for Borders. I also DJ around the city in the underground scene. My life has never been better!

I remember when I was a resident at Gatehouse Academy. There were a lot of times when I said to myself and others that I couldn’t wait to get out of here and go back home. Well after I commenced I transitioned to the Gatehouse College Campus program. After succeeding there and excelling with my program I transitioned into a staff member. It’s now been about three years and I currently reside in Prescott, AZ. I work on the front lines so to say at Gatehouse as a Residential Director. I love working with young adults in recovery. I have a lot to offer the residents, and they teach me something new every day. I have come to the realization that this is my home and I’m living the life that my higher power has laid out for me today.

Today I’m working for Gatehouse. I’m using my experience with this program and sobriety to help others get what was given to me. Life is unexplainably good. I do what I love which is mechanic work and riding horses while helping others get sober and helping me stay sober. Things are back in place with my family and I love myself today.

Gatehouse has kept close tabs on me since commencing from main program almost two years ago. I completed six months of transition at Gatehouse College Campus and then came on as staff at GCC and at Main Property in Wickenburg. I absolutely love working in this field and truly feel led by my HP to be of service in this way. I am currently enjoying a new position at GCC in Prescott and am excited for what my HP has in store for me in 2008.
