Prior to his joining the Gatehouse team David owned and managed a general contracting business focusing on commercial renovations, and custom carpentry. David, who has been in recovery himself for 16 years, is ideally suited for his role of teaching the residents life skills in carpentry, construction and overall property management. Reflected in his craft is his education at York University in Toronto, Canada with an emphasis in Fine Art.

David has an extensive wilderness background having spent extended periods of time from his childhood on in the back country, canoeing, backpacking, and hiking. He is responsible for planning and leading our extended duration canoe and backpacking trips primarily in the South Western US and Northern Ontario, Canada. David also mentors and trains Graduate staff in becoming Trip leaders.
