Tambra Curtis - Assistant Director of Family Communications
Her story is not unique in tragedy or bottom too low to discover a solution through the program of Alcoholic Anonymous. Wickenburg is a place that Tambra calls home and finds a friendly attitude among the local town's people. Before she came to Gatehouse Academy, Tambra had been effective in public relations and channel of communication for many years while in her addictions. She completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a minor in Behavioral Science at Grand Canyon University during her years of sobriety that suggests the miracles in a purposeful life.
Since Tambra was a young adult, she had the aspiration to make a difference in young people's lives who suffered from drug or alcohol addictions. As a young teenager, she witnessed first hand the inside of an institution when she was found incorrigible/hopeless in the life drama of drugs and alcohol via the State of California. She has witnessed first hand that the 12 steps of Alcoholic Anonymous works with young adults because she is also a mom of a 31 year old who is in recovery due to alcohol and drug addictions for an uninterrupted over 5 years of sobriety
While on staff in Family Communications, Tambra can relate to parents and the young adults of the struggles, life changes and successes through the design of the 12 step program at Gatehouse Academy.
