Tom began his recovery process at Gatehouse's predecessor in 1991. He is part of a family with three generations in recovery, his daughter, the third generation, having been one of the first Gatehouse residents. As a result, he's been able to see the family dynamic from the perspective of the son of an alcoholic as well as the parent of one, both in active alcoholism and recovery."I feel this perspective gives me some insight into the way this disease affects families and hopefully broadens the spectrum in which I can be helpful."Tom has been a Residential Director at both the ranch facility and the main campus in Wickenburg and has also spent some time at the extended campus in Fort Edward, N.Y.
